Our Story

Mind Matters Movement was born from a deeply personal journey. When Adhya was just eight years old, she lost her aunt to glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive form of brain cancer.  There are 26 letters in the alphabet, but not enough words to describe what she meant to Adhya and her family. Her passing left a void—but also a mission. So many patients face extremely high mortality rates after diagnosis with brain cancer.

Brianna also faced many complexities due to neurological conditions. When she was 10 years old, she caught Lyme disease. It went undiagnosed for a year and infected her brain. She lost her long-term memory, developed epilepsy, and deals with the symptoms of Lyme to this day.

Brianna and Adhya co-founded the Mind Matters Movement to raise awareness, fund research, and advocate for those affected by brain diseases. Today, our organization is driven by three dedicated committees: Research, Advocacy, and Volunteering. Together, we’re committed to making a difference in the fight against neurological conditions.
